It all started in 1930 in Buti, a small town near Pisa, where Giuseppe weaved together chestnut branches into baskets. Flash forward to 1989 when his granddaughters, Simona and Marisa, name the family-run bags and accessories company KONTESSAderiving from the noble history of Buti, from which the owners of the brand take their last name.Today the company is made up of only women running a design studio, prototype laboratory, commercial office, company showroom, as well as a large manufacturing and shipping warehouse. Accessories are in the brand's DNA and are the starting point that leads to the creation of a coordinated total look.
